Worship

Our Presbyterian Book of Common Worship says: “Worship is at the very heart of the church’s life. All that the church is and does is rooted in its worship. The community of faith, gathered in response to God’s call, is formed in its worship. Worship is the principal influence that shapes our faith, and is the most visible way we express the faith.” “Worship: The Highest Priority. Worship is the most important role, task, and mission of the church.” For a deeper understanding of worship, please read Dr. Michael Roberts’ sermon, The Way To Worship.

Here, at First Presbyterian Church, we normally have two worship services on Sunday mornings: 8:30 AM in our historic Sanctuary and 11:00 AM in our Worship Center in the Fellowship Hall. Both services are similar in format with the same sermon. Our services offer a variety of musical styles and prayers. Bibles, hymnals and bulletins in Large Print are available at both services and we now have hearing impaired systems available upon request.
