At First Presbyterian Church we celebrate God’s gift of creativity. Professional or amateur, singer or instrumentalist, if you want to discover or use your musical talents to serve the Glory of God, there is a place for YOU in the Music Ministry of this church! If you are interested in joining one or more of our ensembles, please contact our Music Director, Philip Smith.

Sanctuary & Chancel Choirs are SATB mixed adult choirs that provide music in worship at both the 8:30 and 11:00 am services on a regular basis. They are the core membership of the Cantata Chorus and special Holy Week ensembles. Singing a variety of sacred choral music, both groups meet on Wednesday evenings for rehearsals.

Cantata Chorus presents a major work accompanied by an orchestra of both professional and amateur musicians usually once or twice a year. Members of other First Presbyterian music ensembles are welcome to join the Cantata Chorus as space allows. Participation involves a significant time commitment in the months leading up to the service or musical presentation.

First Bells is an adult handbell choir, providing music for worship services several times a year. The church has a beautiful four-octave set of handbells and a four-octave set of hand chimes that are used to make a joyful noise! This group meets on Sundays at 12:00 PM for rehearsal.

Youth Choir is a great opportunity for youth in 7-12 grades to serve the church in a musical way. Coordinating with Youth Ministry calendar and programming, this ensemble rehearses and sings in worship on Youth Sunday in the fall and as-scheduled throughout the rest of the year.

Children’s Choir is for those in our LOGOS program, Kindergarten – 6th grade. Please visit our Children’s page for more information on this wonderful ministry.
