In-Person Service FAQ’s
When is the service?
April 4 at 11am. We suggest that you arrive by 10:30am as it will take time for everyone to get into the parking lot.
How will the parking process work?
Cars will enter the Georgetown High School parking lot from Austin Ave (see the below map). Once inside the parking lot, you will be met by a parking attendant in an orange vest who will give you further directions.
- Those who have brought their own chairs and plan to sit outside for the service will be directed to park in the back area of the lot.
- Those who are remaining in your vehicles to listen to the service over FM radio will be directed to the front portion of the parking lot (again, see the map).
- If you are going to sit in chairs but need to drop off members of your family before parking, there is a drop-off section that you will be directed to before heading back to the general parking area. Again, our parking attendant team will make sure to guide you the whole way!
Will we have bulletins?
It is the first Sunday of the month – will we celebrate the Lord’s Supper?
How will bulletins and communion cups be distributed?
For those seated outside, ushers and greeters will provide you with a bulletin and a communion cup as you enter the seated worship area. For those remaining in your cars, ushers and greeters will come to your window to provide bulletins and communion cups. You can set your communion cup aside until later in the service when we participate together in the Lord’s Supper.
What are the safety precautions in place?
For those seated in the front area, masks are required, social distancing between family units will be maintained, and ushers and greeters will wear gloves as they distribute bulletins and communion cups. There will not be congregational singing, but you are welcome to hum along to the hymns. For those who remain in their cars, there is no need for masks and you are welcome to sing all that you want!
What should I bring?
If you are going to sit outside for the service, bring a fold-out chair for yourself and everyone in your family. Depending on the weather, you may wish to bring water, sunglasses, a hat, and suntan lotion. If you are going to remain in your cars, you may still wish to bring some or all of those items. Also, know that we will have battery cables available should anyone’s car battery die while parked for the service.
Will the flower cross be present?
Yes! And you are welcome to bring some fresh flowers to help decorate that.
Will there be restrooms available?
There will be porta-potties available onsite.
What FM station will be used to broadcast the service?
We will not know that until Sunday morning. As you arrive to the FM lot, however, you will be provided the frequency by a greeter or parking attendant.
Can I invite friends and neighbors to come?
Absolutely! We have plenty of room, and we would love for any and all to come.
Where can I make my offering?
There will be a large box toward the back of the seated worship area. You can place offerings inside of that or you can give, as always, by sending a check to the church office or by giving online at fpcgeoregetown.org/give
What is the rain plan?
If we do get a light drizzle, we will continue with the service as planned. If it becomes a steady or pouring rain, then we will cancel the outdoor service, and those who did not attend the 8:30am livestream service can watch that for Easter. If we need to cancel, we will announce this by 10:15am on Sunday morning.
