“Death & Dying in the Neighborhood”
Main speaker: Katy Bedford, M. Div., Chaplain, Heart to Heart Hospice
Other Speakers: Christina Bondesen, FPC Office Manager & Jaime Cowan, FPC Communications Director
Monday, May 2
Room 101 & via Zoom
This program is open to all interested persons. Katy’s presentation will focus on the talk that families need to have when their loved one is dying or has a terminal diagnosis.
Christina’s and Jaime’s presentations will make people aware of how FPC can help with preparing in advance: their stories for remembrance, memorial services, and legal obligations as the result of a loved one’s death.
Christina will discuss the Presbyterian Cemetery and the memorial obituary document the church offers to all members. She will also have copies of the form to hand out. Jaime will discuss technology that can help save important documents that family members will need following the loss of a loved one.
Death isn’t an easy thing to talk about, Katy says. “There are a lot of unknowns and for many of us, it’s easier to ignore the subject until we’re forced to face it. During our time together, we will talk about
the different decisions that one can make about their death and how to communicate these decisions with loved ones.”
For those joining online, the zoom link will be sent in the Friday email or you may contact email@example.com to obtain it as well.
